بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ –
A muslim recites at least seventeen times surah al Fatihah a day, in which, are the verses :
اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ – 1:6
Guide us to the straight path –
صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ […]- 1:7
The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor […]
He asks with humility and sincerity guidance from Allah; but what is the straight path, the path of those upon whom Allah have bestowed favor ? Allah says in surah an Nisa :
وَمَن يُطِعِ اللَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ ۚ وَحَسُنَ أُولَٰئِكَ رَفِيقًا – 4:69
And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger – those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions.
Thus, it is the path of the Prophets, the truthful, martyrs and the righteous.
The Messenger of Allah, showed us the straight path and explained us how to implement the religion of Islam and His companions have applied it in the best of ways, that’s why, Allah is pleased with them and those who follow them :
وَالسَّابِقُونَ الْأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنصَارِ وَالَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُم بِإِحْسَانٍ رَّضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي تَحْتَهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ – 9:100
And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansar and those who followed them with good conduct – Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.
Therefore, a muslim must strive to follow this path, in order to achieve Paradise and attain Allah’s pleasure
